Description

A wonderful skitour, easy and safe, with a wonderful view on Mount Pelmo, Tofane and Croda da Lago, through couloirs and woods, to the rocky plateau of Formin.

The tour starts from the little bridge of Peziè de Parù, following the path n.

434.

While you are walking into the woods, the inclination increases until you reach Cason de Formin, a peculiar tiny log cabin.

Once you have reached the fork with the path n.

435, take this last one and follow the majestic Val Formin up to Forcella Formin.

From there, continue westbound ascending the ridge, up to the summit (2.657 m).

From the top you can admire a stunning panorama on the major peaks of the Dolomites, as well as on the adjacent Croda da Lago.

For the return you can ski down along the same route.

For the expert skiers it is also possible, staying 50m left from the cliff, to descend a great couloir up to 35° of inclination.

You will arrive at Forcella Giau, then take the old road to Peziè de Parù.

How to reach the starting point From Cortina, take the road towards Falzarego Pass.

After crossing the locality of Pocol, turn left to Giau Pass and continue until you reach Peziè de Parù, where you can leave your car.
